"This is an important book that is essential,
especially for teachers and reciters of the Quran"
-Imam al-Sakhawi
The Prophet, peace be upon him, said, "Verily, Allah has His own people among humanity." They said, "O Messenger of Allah, who are they?" The Prophet said, "They are the people of the Quran, the people of Allah and His chosen ones." Carrying the Quran comes with great honor and status, but also a great burden and responsibility. The word hafidh, commonly used in recent times to refer to the one who memorizes and recites the Quran, derives from the word 'hafidha' which literally translates to 'protect.' However, previously, the word “Hamil,” translating to “carrier” was used in reference to those who memorized the Quran. In this book, Imam al-Nawawi details the adab, or manners, that are required for the carrier or protector of the Quran. He details the merit of reciting the Quran, then follows with an exposition on the adab related to teaching and learning Quran, as well as circumstances and times for recitation, and several matters of fiqh surrounding the Quran. Join us for this unique opportunity to study this sacred text with one of the greatest scholars of our age, Shaykh Samer al-Nass. Distinguished for his studies and mastery of the various Islamic sciences, Shaykh Samer will read the book in Arabic, followed by a translation to English. There will be short explanation and plenty of time for question and answer. |
